The Jacob Blake incident in Kenosha, WI on Sunday August 23 2020

After a black man was shot seven times in the back by a police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday, 23 August, people angry about police violence began protesting. Limited law enforcement in Kenosha has led to individuals and groups taking the law into their own hands during the unrest, a spokesman for the Wisconsin Professional Police Association said. An overnight curfew is in place in the city from 19:00 - 07:00, lasting until Sunday. Community leaders have urged people to respect the curfew; however the violent protestors are obviously violating the curfew. We call on all curfew violators to be arrested.

There have been days of demonstrations and unrest after Mr Blake's shooting.

On Tuesday, a small group threw fireworks and water bottles at police in Kenosha, who responded with rubber bullets and tear gas.

Videos from Tuesday show armed civilians in military clothes congregating outside buildings in the city. Kenosha had descended into "anarchy" after being "abandoned" by authorities. A few days later, after a few deaths among the protestors and horrible arson and destruction of property, more than 200 FBI agents are being sent to Kenosha to try to bring order to the city, and the White House says 2,000 National Guard members are available to go.

The Rayshard Brooks incident in Atlanta

The June 13, 2020 incident in which a black man, Rayshard Brooks, failed a DUI (driving under the influence) test, and then resisted arrest, and attacking police officers, grabbing the taser of one and attempting to shoot him with it as he was fleeing, is a perfect example of a black man's petty crime, which, when he then resisted arrest, and attacked police offers, resulted in his legal killing by the officers. No-one can doubt that if you steal a police officers' weapon, and then attempt to use it on the officer, you will be shot. Also, driving under the influence is perhaps not a petty crime at all, since it can often result in the death or injury of innocent others.  Let us hope that these officers do not lose their jobs, and that the relatives of the criminal Brooks don't get any payout from the police department or from the government. Taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for a man's crime. Stealing a police offers' weapon while resisting arrest can never be tolerated.

The Spring & Summer 2020 Black Lives Matter Protests and Violence

Regarding the May and June 2020 Protests and Violence. Protesting is a American right, but arson, looting and deliberate property damage are serious CRIMES which MUST be punished. Mobs, whether left-wing or right-wing, black or white, gay or straight, etc. should never be able to get away with such crimes. We demand minimum prision terms of 5 years for all arsonists; and 1 year for looters. These numbers are for first-time offenders ONLY. Repeat offenders should be penalized further. There is NO EXCUSE for ARSON or LOOTING. Deliberate property damage, also, must be punished.

Shame on you pitiful mayors and governors who couldn't keep order. Citizens: don't let them be re-elected. Call for their removal from office for abandoning their cities' and their states' most important guarantees to their citizens: freedom and safety.

As for the event that ignited these protests, the killing of Mr. George Floyd by a Minneapolis policeman: That policeman, Derrick Chauvin, should be charged with 1st degree murder, and the three other police officers who were present, Thomas Lane, J Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao, should be charged as accomplices. All four of them should be prohibited from ever again serving in  any public capacity.  Let's not make a hero out of convicted robber and possible user / passer of counterfeit money George Floyd, but let us not let his brutal murder go unpunished. Let us also remember and learn from Mr. Floyd's death. He resisted arrrest, refused to be put in the back of the police vehicule. He became combative physically - that is ALWAYS a bad idea: not only is it against the law to resist arrest, but it is also very dangerous.
